Not only should tooth decay be treated in regular dental appointments, <strong>it should be prevented!<\/strong> Tooth decay is 100 percent preventable with effective personal care and regular dental cleanings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In honor of Children\u2019s Dental Health Month,<\/strong> we\u2019re spreading the word about children\u2019s dental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YOU Can Help Little Ones Have Healthier Smiles!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Encourage them to brush for two full minutes.<\/strong>\u00a0Pick a song about two minutes long and sing it to them during brushing time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set reminders to brush twice a day.<\/strong>\u00a0Brushing after breakfast and just before bed are the best times for preventing bacteria growth from food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show them flossing is fun, not harmful.<\/strong> Be gentle at first when doing it for them. A bad experience can stop them from flossing on their own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be persistent.<\/strong> Don\u2019t let fussy children off the hook. Be motivating! Kids may gladly brush for a sticker or star if you make it an activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set their first dental appointment before age 1.<\/strong> Having positive dental experiences early will make dental visits easier and less frightening when older.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We just started our first Cavity-Free Club for children 12 years and younger!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids 12 years and under who have a cavity free dental exam will be entered into a drawing for a prize! There will be one winner drawn at the end of each month!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each child will also receive a cavity free T-shirt at the time of visit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kids will be considered cavity free after completing all planned dental treatment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.westgatedentalcare.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/cavity-free-2.5.16-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"cavity free 2.5.16\" class=\"wp-image-10125\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Help Us Spread The Word!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Share this message with your friends and family, and especially with the children in your life.
